This CD player was designed to be a two part system. The base unit was designed to be left either at home or the office. It is a powered self contained system with a set of amplified speakers built in. The other element of the system is the portable CD player that can be taken with the commuter on their bus or subway travels. When the two components are together they make a powerful room filling stereo and apart a quiet personal unit.
